No doubt there are local groups which are unique to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and to your city/town which would be good to be friendly with. Find them and write them down here!

If any of these exist in your area already, please note their location, their webpage, when they have meetings, etc. If you intend to help start one, note that too! Feel free to delete ones that don't interest you.
[edit] Copynight
A informal monthly event where people interested in free culture + copyright get together over drinks and chat. Ideally these events would be held in locations which are open to all ages (since many of our members are younger than 21), but sadly many are held in 21+ venues. You can help change this! If there is no Copynight in your city, give it a try, and meet interesting people from the community! If there is already one, but it's not in an all-ages venue, lobby them to change the location.

A larger, more preparation-intensive monthly event based around Creative Commons licenses, involving 2-3 brief presentations from individuals and groups developing interesting projects that relate to the Creative Commons as well as simply hanging out and networking.
